SAGECOLLAB PARTNERSHIP
Supporting LGBTQ+ Older Adults Across Arkansas
Arkansas Black Gay Men’s Forum (ABGMF) is proud to partner with SAGECollab to strengthen support, advocacy, and community care for LGBTQ+ older adults throughout Arkansas.
What Is SAGECollab?
SAGECollab is a national network of diverse organizations that partner with SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders) under the shared goal of supporting LGBTQ+ older people in their communities.
Through SAGECollab, partners work together to exchange ideas, explore public policy changes, and inspire one another to better support and empower LGBTQ+ older adults everywhere.
Why This Partnership Matters in Arkansas
- LGBTQ+ older adults face higher risks of social isolation and economic insecurity
- Many experience barriers to affirming healthcare, housing, and social services
- Black LGBTQ+ elders often encounter compounded inequities tied to race, age, and identity
- Rural and Southern communities frequently lack culturally responsive aging resources
Through SAGECollab, Arkansas Black Gay Men’s Forum helps ensure older LGBTQ+ Arkansans are seen, supported, and included in advocacy, services, and policy conversations.
Connecting Aging, Food Security & Health Advocacy
Many LGBTQ+ older adults face food insecurity, chronic health challenges, and limited access to supportive services. Through this SAGECollab partnership, ABGMF strengthens its Food Insecurity Program and broader Health Advocacy efforts, ensuring older community members are connected to nourishment, resources, and dignity-centered care.
Our Commitment as a SAGECollab Partner
- Strengthening referrals and support for LGBTQ+ older adults
- Advocating for inclusive aging and health policies in Arkansas
- Building intergenerational connections within the LGBTQ+ community
- Promoting dignity, safety, and visibility for LGBTQ+ elders
