FOOD INSECURITY PROGRAM
Community • Dignity • Access
Arkansas Black Gay Men’s Forum (ABGMF) tackles hunger at the neighborhood level—expanding access to fresh, reliable food and connecting our community to benefits, education, and support.
Why this matters
- Arkansas has one of the highest food insecurity rates in the nation.
- Food insecurity rose statewide in recent years, outpacing national averages.
- Every county has neighbors facing hunger—rural and urban communities alike.
- Hunger impacts health, education, housing stability, and economic mobility.
What we do
We provide consistent, stigma-free access to pantry staples, fresh produce (when available), and resource navigation. Our team also helps community members connect to benefits, local food partners, and nutrition education.
